Urbanized Systems
Our Extension programming related to urban systems aims to promote the responsible and sustainable management of these systems. To this end we conduct research and outreach related to urban agriculture and food production; urban ecosystem services; urban forestry; landscaping to enhance native biodiversity and other ecological benefits; invasive species management; climate resilience in urban communities; and more. We work with and design resources for land developers, landscape architects and designers, HOAs, homeowners, municipalities, urban farmers, food banks, new migrants, people living in flood-prone areas, and many other stakeholders.
