I am a PhD student interested in the bio-economics of land management in Florida, specifically invasive species management, fire-vegetation feedbacks, and interactions between the two. I am developing models to: 1) simulate how invasive species might spread across a heterogenous landscape and how different levels of control effort affect this spread; and 2) simulate how prescribed fire might spread across vegetation in a heterogenous landscape, and how this in turn affects the vegetation and future fires.
I currently work for the Florida Park Service and my past work experience includes The Nature Conservancy, St. Johns River Water Management District, Hillsborough County and Historic Bok Tower Gardens. My career focus has been on the different aspects of vegetation management, and utilizing technology and tools to help improve on-the-ground decision making.
