Concentration: Ecological Restoration
Advisor: Michael Andreu
I am from Florence, AL and currently work as a biologist for Alabama Power Company (APC) in Birmingham, AL. Our work mostly consists of managing threatened and endangered species on APC lands and leases (including the red-cockaded woodpecker, gopher tortoise, and trispot darter), managing regulatory requirements for our hydroelectric operations (managing wood duck boxes, conducting eagle surveys, etc.), and collaborating with state and federal entities on conservation projects around the state. I believe that the best conservation work happens when people with a wide range of values can come together for a common cause. I look forward to my time as a graduate student at UF!
