Quigley, Rhett

MS Student, Forest Resources & Conservation

Concentration: Ecological Restoration

Advisor: Eben Broadbent

My name is Rhett Quigley and I am in the Ecological Restoration degree program. This is my first semester at UF, I will be a distance learner. I mostly grew up in Martinsburg, West Virginia which is where I currently live.

Last month I received my BS in biology with a minor in chemistry from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. While I was at Shepherd I did a research internship with my ecology Professor Dr. John Steffen on the effects of carotenoids on painted turtle spot and stripe color. Just last month our research paper was published in the Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology, Part B peer-reviewed scientific journal, which was a significant milestone for me. Here is a link to that paper: https://authors.elsevier.com/c/1cIWt3vK7PqyLW.

I love all aspects of ecology, with a strong interest in ornithology. I use eBird to record my bird sightings.
