As a born and raised Marylander, it’s no surprise that I graduated from the University of Maryland where I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with a focus in Ecology and Evolution. Now I am enrolled as a graduate student in the Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences program. My previous research work at the University of Maryland focused on long-term restoration of the eastern oyster (Crassostrea virginica) on historic bars where they had once thrived in the tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay. Currently as an Assistant Dive Safety Officer at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, my research interests have shifted to exploring aquaculture techniques of marine ornamental fishes in order to establish sustainable solutions for marine conservation for the aquaria trade.
