I have a Masters in Latin American Studies with a focus on Tropical Conservation and Development from the University of Florida. My previous work with Dr. Karen Kainer focused on gender and community mangrove use and restoration and community perceptions of volunteer mangrove restoration projects in Isla de Chira, Costa Rica. My new research interests centers on the human dimensions of urban forestry in the South Eastern United States.
