MOTAG Forestry Scholarships

  • Categories Scholarships & Funding
  • Date March 21, 2021

MOTAG is an industry association with the objective of educational and technical information exchange in the woodyard sector of the forest products industry.  In recognition of the important role that our partners in the forestry sector provide to the sustainability of our industry we offer regular scholarships to students participating in study programs with a focus on industrial forestry.

The James A. Holekamp Memorial Scholarship and the Charles S. Gardner Memorial Scholarship in Forest Resources are again being offered to rising Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors enrolled in a southern school of Forest Resources/Operations. Selection will be based on scholastic achievement and financial need. The cut-off for this scholarship is July 1st, 2021.  Selection will be made in August with awards distributed late August/early September for the beginning of the fall semester.

The student(s) chosen will be eligible to receive the scholarship his/her Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years, provided they continue to major in Forest Resources and they maintain a 3.0 GPA. The students will be responsible for sending transcripts for subsequent years to retain the scholarship.

In 2020 MOTAG funded scholarships for three students with one attending Mississippi State University, another at Louisiana Tech University,  and the third attending Virginia Tech University.

The Scholarship application form is available on our website http://motag.org/south-3/scholarship/
