FNR 6628 Watershed Management and Restoration – Fall semester of even years. This online, asynchronous course examines the environmental, social, legal, and economic foundation for watershed management. Through the course of the semester, students will each evaluate a single watershed, focusing on the specific hydrological, water quality, and ecological factors that motivate management, the socioeconomic factors that necessitate management, and the legal and regulatory factors that enable and constrain management. FNR 4343 Forest Water Resources - Spring semester every year. This required course for the Forest Resource Conservation major focuses on understanding the water cycle in forests, the role of forests in regional water quality and quantity, forest management decisions and practices that impact water systems, and the legal and regulatory frameworks for protecting water and forests.
